Rad Reading-December

This month I read Middle School The Worst Years Of My Life. This book is about a teenage boy named Rafe. Rafe got transferred to a very strict school after his bad actions at his other schools. This was the last school in their town so he couldn’t mess it up. Rafe’s new principal, Principal Dwight is very strict and doesn’t let ANYTHING slide. After setting into his new school he gets into a lot of trouble with Principal Dwight. His principal ends up destroying Rafe’s journal that had all his creations and drawings in it. This causes Rafe to pull some funny pranks on his principal as revenge with the help of some friends.

I love this book because the main character is super creative and it is just a very exciting and eventful book. It makes me exited to read what happens next!

I like Rafe and how he interprets his creativity throughout the book. He is definitely my favorite character because he makes it exiting to read about the ideas and pranks he has in mind. You definitely get a laugh out of this book. Rafe is sneaky and a trouble maker. An example of this trait is this quote, “I decided that every rule in the Hills Village Middle School code of conduct should be worth a certain number of points, depending on how hard it is to break.” The quote shows me Rafe is a trouble maker since he’s planning to break every rule the school has in its book of rules.

My favorite line/quote is, “Where you going Squirt?” Bear asked from the couch. “Just taking Ditka for a walk,” I said, like it was something I did all the time. “Sounds good,” He said. “You could both use the exercise.” Look who’s talking, I thought. This is my favorite quote from the book because I feel like they were both fighting each other with humor which was really funny to me.
